Fuel cell power plants

Fuel cells provide competition for CHP plants

Fuel cells can supply entire housing estates or industrial plants with electricity and heat. They are providing competition for cogeneration (CHP) plants, and worldwide several hundred are already in trial operation. High electricity yields: Even with lower heating requirements, more electricity can be generated than in conventional systems. While standard CHP plants only work optimally in steady operation, fuel cells deliver precisely as much energy as is needed within seconds.
