Latent heat storage systems

Low losses and efficient

Sorption storage systems can store heat with virtually no losses – even over long periods of time. Sorption storage systems achieve high energy densities: relative to the volume, thermochemical systems store up to five times the heat volumes of standard hot water storage systems. Open sorption storage systems can be created using beds of solid adsorbents (e.g. zeolites, silica gels) or with liquid absorbents (aqueous salt solutions such as lithium or calcium chloride).
