Latent heat storage systems

Absorption

Absorption storage systems work with aqueous salt solutions such as lithium or calcium chloride. They are primarily used for providing air-conditioning for buildings. Here the supply air is first of all dehumidified using a concentrated salt solution. The dry air is then humidified again in the air supply system and cools by means of evaporative cooling. The salt solution diluted by this process can be concentrated again by supplying heat, for example from solar thermal systems, and can be stored for any length of time.
