Latent heat storage systems

Slurries – liquid PCMs

Phase change materials (PCMs) can also be used for transporting heat. Heat transfer fluids – so-called phase change slurries (PCSs) – have at least twice the energy density of water. These slurries are created using latent heat materials such as paraffin, which are finely distributed in the water. Also used are emulsions and micro-encapsulated PCMs.
